Project Summary
The proposed construction at this site will consist of building a new 2-story, 335,124 square-foot warehouse and retail structure as well as a 3-story elevated parking deck/garage. The site is the 18.87± acre heavily wooded parcel of land enclosed by Interstate 64 to the east, a finger of Lake Wright to the west, and Northampton Boulevard to the south. New pavements, BMP areas, retaining walls, a pylon sign, and other associated infrastructure will be constructed as well.
This project presented a number of challenging geotechnical opportunities, including soft ground conditions requiring subsurface improvements utilizing controlled modulus columns, as well as complex stormwater management, hydrogeologic assessment and design.
